Formulation Development Scientist - Contract - San Francisco, CA

Primary Responsibilities:
This position will be required to contribute to the development and manufacturing of small molecule and oligonucleotide therapeutics. This role involves supporting drug product development, collaborating with external partners, and ensuring high-quality outcomes in a dynamic and innovative environment.
Skills & Requirements:
- Proficiency in formulation process development and manufacturing for small molecule drug products.
- Experience in preformulation characterization and analytical testing.
- Familiarity with outsourcing CMC deliverables to CDMOs is advantageous.
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment, learn new skills, and manage shifting priorities.
- Strong critical thinking skills to analyze challenges, propose solutions, and make informed decisions.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
The Formulation Development Scientist's responsibilities will be:
- Develop and optimize formulation processes for small molecule and oligonucleotide therapeutics.
- Conduct preformulation characterization and analytical testing to support drug product development.
- Collaborate with Contract Development and Manufacturing Organizations (CDMOs) to deliver products for nonclinical studies and clinical trials.
- Troubleshoot and analyze data to resolve technical challenges in formulation development and manufacturing.
- Support risk assessments and investigate manufacturing deviations.
- Author and review Standard Operating Procedures, specifications, regulatory filings, and other controlled documents as needed.
Compensation:
- $50 to $60 per hour.
