À±½·ÊÓÆµ is seeking a Radium Asset Manager to our client and coordinate the safe, efficient, and compliant flow of radium-from retrieval to disposal-while working with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the responsible person for radium within the organization, ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
- Manage the full radium handling process, including storage, retrieval, purification, and transfer into the production facility.
- Develop and implement processes and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for radium handling, purification, and waste management.
- Oversee radium waste collection, processing, minimization, documentation, and disposal in line with nuclear and environmental regulations.
- Coordinate a multidisciplinary team, including radiochemists, engineers, and safety experts.
- Ensure strict adherence to nuclear safety, environmental health and safety (EHS), and radiation protection requirements.
- Train and mentor technical staff on radium chemistry, handling techniques, and safety practices.
- Monitor operations, troubleshoot issues, and drive continuous improvement in processes and safety measures.
- Contribute to strategic planning for the radium supply chain and long-term waste management strategies.
Key Skills and Requirements:
- Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Chemistry, Radiochemistry, or a related field.
- Experience handling radioactive materials, particularly radium, actinium, or thorium.
- Strong knowledge of radiochemistry, radioprotection, and nuclear safety regulations.
- Proven ability to lead projects and manage multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex technical challenges.
- Fluency in English; Dutch language skills are an asset.
